About
The building on the current A. Domasevičiaus Street has not only changed its function over time from its original residential use, but has also been enlarged by the addition of new extensions. When UAB D9 acquired the building in 2022, the aim was to combine architectural blocks from different eras and adapt them to a new function: to create a comfortable space for an office and the display of artworks, while at the same time telling the story of the building.
The old part of the building has surviving examples of polychrome wall paintings that have been preserved. The space is suitable for offices and art exhibitions. The atrium in the annex is part of the building and also showcases the works of the LEWBEN Art Foundation, a private art foundation, which can be viewed not only from the main hall, but also from the ‘balconies’ on the second and third floors.
Due to the staircase being constructed over different periods, height differences between floors can be observed. The old and new parts of the building combine to create a comfortable and high-quality office-museum-gallery space, whose interior solutions and preserved authentic architectural details recall the building’s storied history and invite the public to explore art.
