Merchants’ Club – Business Centre

Built more than 100 years ago, the Merchants’ Club building is distinguished by its modern solutions and original architecture. In its time, it was one of the most luxurious buildings in Vilnius, and it once brought together some of the most prominent industrialists and merchants of Vilnius.

The building now consists of two parts: the historic old building and the new one designed by architect Alfredas Trimonis. The restoration of the building aimed to restore and preserve as many elements of the past as possible, making it possible today to rediscover forgotten architecture and to admire the most precious exterior and interior elements, shapes, colours, and the richness of decoration and ornamentation. The Baroque-style cylindrical tower, erected almost a hundred years ago, is crowned by a 3-meter high allegorical sculpture of Atlas – the building’s distinctive highlight at the corner of Lukiškės Square.

Inside the building, stylistically distinct spaces have been created to capture the true spirit of architectural history and to experience the charm of the fusion of classical and modern styles. Inside the building, a stream runs between the historic walls, creating a peaceful and meditative atmosphere. Today, the offices of the business centre, housed in a historic building, are modern yet steeped in centuries-old traditions.
