About

• In the heart of Vilnius Old Town, next to the Town Hall Square, in the house-museum of the artist Kazys Varnelis, history reminiscent of Gothic and Renaissance and modern creations intertwine;

• In the connection between the Small Guild and Masalskiai House, in the corner hall, there is a particularly rare exhibit – virenė – an open fireplace, of which only three are known in Vilnius;

• The interior today shows one tiny surviving square of authentic sgraffito decor, reminiscent of the evolution of the building during different periods;

• The surviving details of Gothic and Renaissance architecture recall the times of the Merchants Guild and tell of the former functions of this building;

• In K. Varnelis’ workshop-studio you can see not only the artist’s personal space, but also the facade walls of the two buildings inside it.
