CINEMA “PAUPIO PASAKA”

About
Cinema Pasaka in Paupys is a new, modern, but also very contextual building, reflecting in its form and finishing materials the wooden house that used to be on this site.
The building itself was designed as part of the conversion of the district from a factory area to a residential area with various public functions. The formation of the Paupys district involved the creation of a new urban structure and context, so this building, although newly restored, strongly influenced the urban development of the whole district, dictated design decisions for the other buildings, and became the starting point for the composition of the district.
Following the history of the old building, a modern gabled building with a wooden façade has been designed, while architectural solutions were used to preserve its multi-layered links with the past of Vilnius. The cosy, home-like environment, the small scale and warm exterior of the wooden building evokes a different, unusual experience – an architectural cosiness and a homely atmosphere.
Both its exterior and interior design are reminiscent of a fairy tale house, where function is integrated in a modern way into the architectural whole, and cosy spaces make it possible to fully immerse oneself in the films being shown.
