• The Institute of Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences of Vilnius University is classified as a brick style building. The distinctive feature of the style is reflected in its unplastered and open brickwork facades;• The Institute was known for the quality of its work and the building reflects that. The location is convenient, the classrooms are modern, workshops and laboratories are ventilated with central heating, the library has the most up to date publications. The Vilnius University’s Faculty of Chemistry has invested much in the highly sensitive equipment needed for its work;
• This building survived the entire 20th century of different political rule but was always able to maintain its function as a chemical research institution;
• During the tour, you will be able to experience the unique smell of the Faculty of Chemistry. You will have the opportunity to enter the laboratories, see archival photos and objects from the lives of chemists, historical books. Out of the corner of your eye, you will be able to glance at a mural, which is usually seen only by the staff of one faculty.
