Authors

Ekskursijoje pristatoma kelių XIX-XX a. architektų kūryba.

About

• Tauras Hill has always been a Vilnius landmark. The architecture in this area is exceptional not only for its colorful transition from the 19th century into the 20th, but also for its highly complex architectural solutions for designing buildings in steep mountain terrain;

• Your tour will include an overview of the most prominent buildings from different eras that stand at the foot of Tauras Hill. You will see charming wooden structures that continue to stand alongside intricate secession and purely late modern interwar buildings, all of which stand as testimony to the unique architectural evolution in this part of the city;

• One of the stops on the tour is the Venclova Family House – an exceptional example of the Modern Rationalist architectural style;

• This route will contribute towards an understanding of how architecture changes over time while adapting to new human needs, lifestyles, and innovations;

• Join us on the tour to find out if the origin of the name of Tauras Hill has anything to do with animals or not.
