Vilnius Palace of Concerts and Sports, built in 1965-1971, completed the Žalgiris building complex;
The sports hall was built as a global-level hockey field, so its area dictated the dimensions of both the hall and the entire building;
For the original cable suspended roof structure, the chief designer was given the title of meritorious engineer;
This is the building of Lithuania that best corresponds to the tendencies of the brutal style;
The stage of the palace is original and innovative, it rolls on wheels, can be lifted and stands up like a folded book;
In addition to sports and cultural events, the founding congress of Sąjūdis was held in the palace, and it was here that people were also able to say goodbye to the victims of January 13th.
