Every resident sees this urban hill in a different way: some perceive it as the city’s business card, the symbol of Lithuania’s growth; others see it as an expression of architects’, of businessmen, or political ambition. The projects being carried out in the Vilnius’ “skyscraper district” are shaping the new city centre, though its history recalls lots of ideas that have failed to be realised. We shall explore how the idea of an urban hill occurred and its subsequent development, which projects have caused controversy and what does its future prospects have to offer? All will be revealed during this walk.
Tours will be guided in Lithuanian.
