11. Centennial Reflections on Gediminas’ Avenue

About

Gediminas’ Avenue is one of the most important and wellknown streets in the capital and reflects Vilnius’ spectrum of urban city colours. It has been renamed several times throughout history, but since 1989 it bears Gediminas’ name. Surely, everyone has walked here at least once, but this walking tour will make you travel in time. Not only you will see the changes and development of the avenue through the century, but you will also get acquainted with the buildings in the middle section of the avenue, which most aptly reflect the shift in historical times. Neoclassicism, interwar architecture, late modernism – this time-travelling walk will help solve the riddles hidden behind these architectural styles.

Tours will be guided in Lithuanian.
