NAUJAmiestis is a part of the city that never ceases to amaze with its novelties. The tour will begin near a building which serves as a commemoration to a new luxurious suburb at the turn of the 20th century – Pohulianka. You will observe the biggest administrational building of the time erected for the purposes of the railway and the first building to be constructed solely for the theatre, which in 1917 served also as a cradle for the new Lithuanian state. As you walk past the new postmodern museum, which contrasts strongly with an old villa next to it, you will reach a building intended for civil rites ceremonies, this being a new ritual at the time.
