About

The public spaces of the city form the social habits of its citizens as well as represent the changes that are happening in the city at that time. Ogmios City is a multi-functional complex, an example of innovative and creative urban decisions, as well as being a boundary between public and commercial spaces. It is a place that is changing the current appearance of the neighbourhood and offers new dimensions and experiences. The territory of 12 hectares is slowly becoming a city within a city: its symbolic autonomy is being questioned in its relationship with its surrounding urban objects. Its neighbouring garages, auto repair shops and a factory become an alternate universe, which allows us to see the multi-layered quality of the city space.

The project was announced to be the best urban development of 2018. The run-down and chaotic territory of an ex-military base became an attractive and unique leisure destination. Here, recreation mixes with commercialism, a green zone is created, and a lot of attention goes to small architectural objects, which reflect the pace of the city and tell the stories of its citizens.
