On the site of the former Evangelical Lutheran cemetery, a team of young and bold architects, led by the architect Gediminas Baravykas, created an exceptional building that gave rise to other similar buildings, not only in Lithuania, but also in the neighbouring countries.
The building features the same style both in its interior and on the exterior. Characterised by plastic shapes and dynamic spaces, the Palace of Marriages merges with its natural environment, while the signature stairway of the façade acts as a symbolic bridge of people’s lives. The interior and exterior of the building have remained almost unchanged, creating an exceptional opportunity to get to know one of the most impressive buildings of the second half of the 20th C. It became a part of the most beautiful memories for many citizens of Vilnius.
During the Open House Vilnius weekend, we invite you to visit the Palace of Marriage without any long-term obligations – led only by a love for architecture!
