A home is made up of the little things. The windows marked with fingerprints, because it’s fun to count the trains that pass by, the bunting in the garden, because each day is a celebration, the books by the fireplace and the old apple trees in the back of the yard, the deer outside the window looking for apples in the snow in winter, the sun that comes through the window onto the breakfast table, and the dust that lives together faithfully. Our days begin at home. Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.
This private residential house was designed in a unique part of Pavilniai Regional Park, alongside the train tracks and surrounded by old apple trees. The architecture is made for family life – practical and stunning in its simplicity. The family’s habits and values dictated the basic principles of the architecture: big glass walls opening up to the garden, and a terrace along the long side of the house. Inside, we will see one large space occupying half the of the total area of the house, and skylights for more light. This house is proof that great architecture should not be superfluous, and that luxury can be created by open spaces, natural materials, daylight, and ever-visible nature
